Police Officer and First Responder Safety

Police and other first responders are prioritized through green-light intersections, in automated communication with other emergency vehicles, drivers, and pedestrians around them. Panasonic’s cloud-based solution manages data from existing vehicle hardware, external systems, and other sources to make this dream a reality.
Driver and Pedestrian Alerts
By sharing the data with in-vehicle navigational systems, the Panasonic cloud will be able to notify drivers of moving emergency vehicles. An alert will be pushed to a heads-up vehicle display or pedestrian’s mobile device to alert them when an emergency vehicle is approaching.
Emergency Vehicle Preemption
With vehicle location and status data, priority green lights can be requested at an intersection when a first responder vehicle is enroute to an emergency. Panasonic’s cloud solution can be integrated either with intersections managed by DOTs or managed by third-party intersection providers.
EV-to-EV Alerts
Avoid emergency vehicle collisions with other agency vehicles at intersections. With access to the GPS and lightbar status of each agency vehicle, Panasonic can detect two intersecting emergency vehicles that might collide, then push an audio and visual alert to the drivers before they enter the intersection – all without installing any new hardware on the vehicles.
